Week 2 of the 2024 NFL preseason: Lessons from Thursday's Eagles victory over the Patriots
Is the position of Eagles' backup quarterback in jeopardy? Kenny Pickett, who is starting the preseason for the second time in a row, may be hinting at his future after another lackluster game. Though most of the Eagles' backup quarterback's completions (11 of 13 for 67 yards) were on well-executed short throws, his stats looked impressive. Looking downfield for Pickett, though, was a different story. He appeared reluctant to throw in a collapsing pocket and was sacked four times. Pickett did face a Patriots defense that was primarily made up of starters, but Tanner McKee's performance might ignite a fresh dispute in Philadelphia. McKee scored the game-winning basket with a great pass after leading two scoring drives in the fourth quarter (11 points overall).
